Radevormwald/Germany – September 2007. Manufacturing of multiple component injection moulding machines has been part of ENGEL’s core business since the 1960s. A very special event was celebrated just recently: the delivery of the 3000th multiple component machine to Gira Giersiepen GmbH & Co. KG. in Radevormwald, Germany.
The machine – a 3-component machine with three electrical units for manufacturing of rocker switches for outdoor use – was handed over mid-September, showcased by an official visit. More than the sum of its component parts – this is the principle that ENGEL multiple-component technology has always followed, and it includes all of our well-known technical options for combined injection moulding of plastics. This makes combinations of colours, shapes and functions, or alternative materials a genuine option The delivery of the 3000th multiple-component machine clearly demonstrates ENGEL’s wealth of know-how in this sector. Innovative products and economic production, thanks to combinations of materials, make ENGEL your perfect choice of partner for multiple-component injection moulding, and the market leader in this sector.
Gira Giersiepen GmbH
15 ENGEL machines – in the Gira corporate colour scheme of yellow and grey – decorate Gira Giersiepen GmbH & Co. KG’s futuristic production facility in Radevormwald, Germany. This family business has been a premium brand on the innovative and design-orientated electrical installation market for more than 100 years. Plastics technology plays an important role in this sector. And this is where the company develops, designs and produces plastic parts, system products and tools for a variety of industries, especially for high-performance industries such as automobile construction, medical and electrical technology. Gira Kunststofftechnik processes a full range of standard, technical thermoplastics using increasingly complex technologies geared to the special demands of the project in hand. It makes sense that ENGEL machine’s play a central role in Gira’s production. Medical technology in particular is one of the company’s major development focuses for the coming years.
Against a backdrop of a visit to Radevormwald the new machine was officially handed over 17 September. "K 2001 saw the kick-off of our cooperation with ENGEL – what we really appreciate today is ENGEL’s professional support before, during and after delivery of the machine, but also the kind of system competency that makes ENGEL an ideal partner in the field of technological development", said Alfred A. Bulitz, CEO Gira Giersiepen GmbH & Co. KG on receiving the commemorative certificate. And as Rolf Saß, CEO ENGEL Hagen added: "Innovative companies like Gira always present interesting challenges. Challenges that help us to advance. Gira’s complex requirements triggered developments that gave new impetus to ENGEL. The partnership has thus contributed to the ongoing mutual development of both companies".
