ENGEL wins Go International Award 2008

ENGEL Austria received the Go International Award as part of the Austrian Export Day on 24th April 2008 in Vienna. With this award, the jury honours internationally active companies that set an example for other companies through their internationalisation strategy. The award was issued by the Außenwirtschaft Österreich (AWO) and presented to the ENGEL representatives by the Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Martin Bartenstein and the president of the Economic Chamber Dr. Christoph Leitl.

ENGEL was already working on international presence in the 70's with their expansion into North America, thereby securing their leading market position. Their global network, currently comprising more than 3800 employees, now ensures direct contact with respective markets. The ENGEL injection moulding machines, robots and complete production systems are produced in eight company-owned production factories in Europe, North America and Asia. Each factory is specialised in a specific product range. The resulting high level of competence in the respective product areas enables rapid and precise implementation of new customer requirements – all around the world. In addition, ENGEL has also brought out a large number of new developments in machine and application technology on the market over the past years. Over 150 patents and utility models have been registered just between 2001 and 2007. This means that, in comparison to other Austrian companies, ENGEL is in the top ten. With subsidiaries in 27 countries and representatives in another 60 countries, ENGEL offers its customers optimal global support, ensuring that they are competitive and successful with the latest technologies and leading-edge production systems.

The Go International Award was awarded in recognition of both the excellent internationalisation efforts and the intensive innovation activities of ENGEL. "We are extremely delighted with this award.
