Handover of the 70,000th ENGEL machine
ENGEL AUSTRIA GmbH has been manufacturing injection moulding machines for about 50 years. The company has since become one of the world's largest manufacturers in this sector. An important milestone has now been achieved with the delivery of the machine bearing the production No. 70,000. It was an ENGEL victory 4550/600 tech which was handed over to representatives of Rosti Technical Plastics UK Ltd. in St. Valentin recently.
Founded in 1991, Rosti Technical Plastics UK Ltd. in Larkhill/Scotland is today a specialized manufacturer of high-precision plastic products and systems – primarily for the electronics, medical technology and automotive sectors. As one of ten production sites of the Danish Rosti Group, the company currently has approx. 270 employees on its payroll and generates turnover of about € 25 to 30 million p.a. According to the maxim "From concept to reality" Rosti UK functions as a systems supplier and besides the manufacture of plastic parts it markets mould development, mould construction, project management and automation solutions.
Increasing flexibility
The cooperation between Rosti UK and ENGEL began in 2007. Rosti had undertaken to configure its manufacturing process more flexibly and thus more efficiently. ENGEL UK proposed the use of tiebar-less injection moulding machines, as these offer a high degree of flexibility with regard to mould installation space. A three-month test phase with an ENGEL victory 300 was enough to convince Rosti. Seven further machines were ordered within a year of taking over the first test machine. Today a total of 43 injection moulding machines are in operation at Rosti UK, ten of them manufactured by ENGEL including automation. Meanwhile an ENGEL speed 500 has been delivered to Rosti in the Netherlands.
Handover ceremony
At the end of August the 70,000th ENGEL machine was handed over to representatives of Rosti UK at the St. Valentin plant. It was an ENGEL victory 4550/600 tech for the manufacture of technical injection parts for the automotive supplier industry.
