The ENGEL tibarless machine series now with 160 tonnes clamping force

The tie-bar-less ENGEL machine series now offer a new size with a maximum clamping force of 1600 kN. These machines replace the current ENGEL victory and e-victory 150 and represent a further milestone in the development of tie-bar-less ENGEL machines with their improved technical specifications and modern design.

The new ENGEL victory 160 offers excellent engineering packaged in a modern design.

Besides the increased clamping force the new machine size also offers important further developments: The clamping cylinder, mould fixing platen and C frame have been completely redesigned. Based on FEM analyses, the characteristics of the tie-bar-less clamping unit have been improved while at the same time reducing the machine's weight. The use of the new Flex-Links with force dividers allows for unbeatable clamping unit quality. They reduce the deflection of the moving mould fixing platen to a minimum and ensure smoothly distributed force transmission to the mould across the whole mould mounting surface. All injection units are safeguarded by safety fences and safety gates. Hydraulic injection units as of size 750 are alternatively available as encapsulated types without additional safety guarding. The selection of electrical injection units has now been extended to include the 940 injection unit. Furthermore the new ENGEL victory 160 fully complies with the needs of energy efficiency. Besides the tried-and-trusted hydraulics, the new ecodrive hydraulic drive system is now also available. In contrast to the standard hydraulics and asynchronous motor used previously, the new system has a fixed displacement pump and servomotor. The benefits: The machine's speed is directly linked to the drive speed. The new servohydraulic ecodrive keeps the speed down to requirements. In other words, the drive is only active during movements, with energy consumption dropping to virtually zero when the machine is idle. So it is possible to save up to 70 percent of the energy consumption.
